Modeling Queen Amidala's
Royal Starship using Amorphium

This is a simple tutorial on using biospheres to create
the general shape of an object then sculpting it to get the final shape.

Change to the biosphere view.

Select new to create a biosphere.

Then adjust the obliqueness to flatten out the sphere.

Next switch the view to top.

Now create more spheres each one being a little smaller in radius than the previous one.  Stack one onto of the other.

Repeat until you get the shape of the main part of the ship.

Now create the spheres for the engines.  Reduce the obliqueness.  These spheres will be more rounded than the others.

This image shows a side view of the ship.  Notice how the centers (red dots) of the spheres line up.

Now we want to create the extensions coming out of the back of the engines.

Select the cylinder brush

Select mode normal

frontcyl.jpg (15659 bytes)

Select front view.

Now resize the radius so that it is smaller than the engine radius.

Set the strength to about 50%.  You may need to play with the strength.

Apply the brush to the rear of the engines.

You may need to apply several times to get the desired length.

Next we want to make the cone shape on the front of the engines.

Switch to the cone shaped brush.

Switch view to back.

Set strength to about 25%.

Apply to front of each engine.

Next comes the hard part.

Uses the brushes to refine the shape of your model.   You will have to do this on your own.
